Ricky Dene Gervais, born on 25th June 1961 in a suburb of Reading, is an English comedian, who started out as a musician and is nowadays known as a producer, writer, actor and waspish host of three Golden Globe Awards. His part in the BBC mockumentary The Office (2001-2003) was Gervais’s breakthrough.
