Sidney, Sir Philip. Courtier of Elizabeth I and poet. Not related to the capital of Australia. Sidney wrote the prose romance Arcadia, which his contemporaries loved and which authors such as Williams Shakespeare borrowed heavily from. Nowadays, people are not so sure about Arcadia.
