This wiki was originally part of the e-learning activities supplementing the Renaissance Culture lecture series given by Prof Pankratz at the English Seminar of Bochum University in 2008/9. Now, in the summer semester of 2009, the lecture course focuses on Restoration Culture - and so does this wiki.

It aims at providing a guide to the fascinating times of the English Renaissance and Restoration, offering explanations of the key terms and concepts relevant to the epochs as well as biographies of their most prominent figures in politics and the arts.

All content is user-generated, i.e. especially every member of the course is welcome to make contributions and everybody shares the responsibility of improving these pages and making them a worthwhile tool for exam preparation and further studies.
