Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena Mountbatten-Windsor was born on 23 March 1990 in London in the Portland Hospital. She was introduced to the public on 30 March 1990 when her mother left the hospital with her. Eugenie was named after the daughter of Princess Beatrice (Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg) who was the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria and also after Victoria’s third daughter, Princess Helena. Eugenie’s christening was the first public christening in the royal family and took place at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.
