Sidney, Sir Philip. Courtier of Elizabeth I and poet. Not related to the capital of Australia. Which is Canberra! Also not related to the big city in Australia many, many people think to be the capital of Australia. Sidney wrote the prose romance Arcadia, which his contemporaries loved and which authors such as William Shakespeare borrowed heavily from. Nowadays, people are not so sure about Arcadia, some find it as dull as watching your nosehair grow, others see in it one of the greatest Renaissance texts.
